This webinar described and highlighted the Department of Veterans Affairs Blind Rehabilitation Service National Continuum of Care. It provided detailed information on the scope and breadth of available services available for eligible Veterans and Active Duty Service members who may benefit from this system of care.  Specific information on services and rehabilitation training was discussed, and information on how to contact the Department of Veterans Affairs Blind Rehabilitation Service and VA medical facilities were provided.

Presenters

Michael Williams, Ph.D. is the National Data Analyst and Rehabilitation Planning Specialist with the VA Blind Rehabilitation Service National Program Office in Washington DC and holds an appointment as a Research Scientist at the Atlanta VA Medical Center's Rehabilitation Research and Development Center of Excellence. Previous appointments include Adjunct Faculty with Georgia State University Gerontology Institute; Research Scientist with Georgia Institute of Technology Center for Assistive Technology & Environmental Access; and Assistant Professor with Georgia Institute of Technology School of History, Technology & Society.

Esteban Zuniga is the National Program Consultant for Blind Rehabilitation Service National Program Office.  He is stationed at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.  He has worked in the VA for 12 years.  Prior to his current position, he served as the Blind Rehabilitation Outpatient Specialist for the VA Polytrauma Center in San Antonio, TX and Blind Rehabilitation Outpatient Specialist at the Northport VA Medical Center.  He has a dual Masters of Art in Blind and Low Vision Studies from Western Michigan University and certified in Orientation and Mobility, Low Vision Therapy, and Vision Rehabilitation Therapy.
