Services are free for most eligible applicants across Texas.
Experience a new beginning with individualized services that will enable you to increase your independence!
To be eligible for services, you must be over age 55 and have a significant visual impairment that is affecting your ability to live independently in your home and community.

“The OIB program has helped me and my wife so much. I have learned how to independently cook or reheat my food and use my computer. I can pay our bills online, make travel arrangements and order things that we need for our daily use. My wife and I have also been provided technology that has helped us with our daily reading, tell time, and manage our medications. Whenever I meet someone experiencing vision loss, I give them the OIB program’s phone number.”
