New Courses: SMART Instruction and Walkers, Crutches, and Support Canes… Oh My!
The OIB-TAC has two new courses available:
-
Walkers, Crutches, and Support Canes… Oh My! Orientation and Mobility for People with Orthopedic Impairments: This course provides strategies and suggestions for teaching orientation and mobility techniques to people who use walkers, crutches, or support canes. The importance of collaboration with physical therapists and other professionals when working with such individuals is stressed along with the need for flexibility when addressing the individual needs of each person. (4-hours ACVREP and NBPCB credits)
-
SMART Instruction: With large caseloads, limited funding/resources, and all the work to be done, it is easy to become overwhelmed or wish you could do more to support the individuals you serve. This course presents strategies related to setting measurable goals, completing documentation, and increasing efficiency to help make your work more manageable and productive while increasing successful client outcomes. (1-hour ACVREP and NBPCB credit.)
All courses are available through our learning management system. For more information about our courses, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
