On February 28-29, the Older Individuals who are Blind Technical Assistance Center (OIB-TAC) held their annual in-person conference for OIB managers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, setting the stage for innovation and collaboration in the realm of vision services. Under the theme "Continuous Improvement,” the event provided an enriching environment for learning, sharing, and evolving together.

“The 2024 OIB-TAC conference was well attended with 45 participants representing 35 states, our best turnout for an in-person conference,” said Kendra Farrow, OIB-TAC project director. The newly confirmed Rehabilitation Services Administration commissioner, Dante Q. Allen, provided a video welcome for conference participants.

The small group discussions stood out as a platform for OIB managers to share successes and learn from the operational insights of their peers from different states. Attendees also delved into diverse models of OIB service, evaluated these from a national standpoint, and engaged in interactive discussions that promoted a deep exchange of knowledge and experiences. Numerous participants shared that the conference provided new ideas, the opportunity to build relationships with peers, and refreshed and invigorated them.A casual meeting scene in a lounge area.
