OIB-TAC January Webinar: Braille and Beyond!
Please join OIB-TAC and Alice O’Reilly, Chief of the Collections Division, National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS), for a fun and informative conversation. With so many new and exciting things happening at NLS, it’s a great time to get to know what’s going on at the nation’s free library for people with visual and print disabilities, along with how it might be a great resource for your clients. Alice will give an overview of what NLS has to offer in audio and braille, as well as how to enroll with the NLS cooperating library in your state or territory, and share some book lists to get your clients started!
Date: Friday, January 19th, 2024, at 2:00 PM Central

Featured Continuing Education Course on Teaching VoiceOver for iPhone
OIB-TAC is pleased to share a continuing education course titled VoiceOver on the iPhone: Where Do I Start? This course is directed to professionals teaching VoiceOver accessibility features of the iPhone.
Share your knowledge of VoiceOver by increasing your effectiveness as an instructor with this course. Learn how to assess when the client is appropriate for VoiceOver and develop a plan to know what to teach first. Develop strategies for successful lessons with older adults, who may be learning to perform iPhone gestures for the first time. Motivate your clients towards further mastery of the iPhone by first giving them independence with the top tasks for daily use.
This course is available for 1 hour of ACVREP and NBPCB credit.
