Guest Presenters: Amber Carroll and Dawnetta Richardson
Amber Carroll, MFT, is the Director of Well Connected which aims to decrease loneliness and increase social connections for older adults across the country. Before coming to Covia in 2015, Amber led the San Francisco Transitional Care Program, a CMS-demonstration project that successfully decreased hospital readmissions for Medicare recipients. Her career in aging services began at the San Francisco Aging and Disability Resource Center which provided information, referral, and assistance to nearly 10,000 seniors and adults with disabilities each year. Amber is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and holds a MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco.
Dawnetta Richardson, Connections Coordinator/ Teacher’s Assistant at Bosma Enterprises as part of their Vision Rehabilitation and IRT Departments. Dawnetta has been a part of the Bosma family in some capacity since February 2013. Dawnetta has been a member of ACB-I for the past year where she is serving on the Conference Planning Committee. She was the “Spotlight Member” in the ACB January/March 2020 issue of their Focus newsletter. For the past 4 years she has also been a member of Indiana AER. In her free time she enjoys reading, crochet, cooking and spending time with her family. Today, Dawnetta will be talking about Bosma’s Connections Program. Connections is an over-the-phone activity line for Visually Impaired/Blind individuals who live in the state of Indiana that was modeled off of the over-the-phone program Well Connected in California.
