Because of the lack of research in the area of services to older blind adults, we are somewhat limited in the resources available to delineate what is the best practice. We have developed the following definition:
Best practices are service delivery strategies or techniques that appear effective based on available evidence; are client-centered; are sensitive to the context of the service delivery setting; and are responsive to evolving technology, resources, or research.
This page addresses best practices that were defined by a Task Force that was convened by the OIB-TAC in January 2017. Topics addressed centered on the administration of the OIB program by state agencies and their contractors. A brief description of the process is included in this section.
